Hydraulic Cylinders
A hydraulic cylinder is a mechanical component that produces linear motion and force using fluid pressure. It is generally used in systems that require the movement of heavy loads such as construction equipment, industrial equipment and agricultural vehicles. Hydraulic cylinders operate on Pascal’s Law, which is based on the principle that fluid pressure is distributed equally in all directions in a closed system. In this system, the pressurized oil provided by the hydraulic pump acts on the piston inside the cylinder and moves the piston rod. Thus, a forward or backward linear motion occurs.
The structure of hydraulic cylinders generally consists of a cylinder body, piston, piston rod, seal and covers. These parts are manufactured with high-pressure resistant materials and provide long-term and efficient operation without oil leakage in the system. Hydraulic cylinders, which have a wide range of uses, are preferred in both mobile and stationary systems thanks to their compact structures and high power generation capacities.
